A Dirty Guitar Nut Can Impede Tuning Performance

Over time, crud and junk can build up in the slots of your guitar nut, preventing full string contact. Cleaning these before every string change will ensure that your new strings seat fully, increasing the life of your strings and their tuning potential.

To do this, follow these steps:

• Use a dedicated soft bristle brush and cleaner of choice. We recommend Cory Coconut Wood Cleaner, but Naptha is a safe solvent that can be used to effectively clean your fingerboard and nut. Using light pressure, scrub the string slots until the desired result is achieved.

• Follow up with 800 grit (or higher) sand paper to gently polish the string slots and remove any remaining rubbing marks left by the strings.

• Dry off any residue with a clean cloth and you are set.
